Field of application

Modern charging infrastructure for electromobility must function reliably under a wide range of grid and load conditions. Programmable AC and DC power supply units make it possible to realistically simulate these conditions and comprehensively test components. New devices are thus put through their paces before being used - in accordance with national and international standards.

In 2021, our customer, the Technology & Innovation Center of TÜV Austria, set up a modern laboratory specially designed for testing AC and DC charging infrastructure in electromobility.

The answer

Our solution

The laboratory was equipped with eight TC.ACS 50-kVA grid simulators and seven bidirectional power supply units of the G5.UNV series. This means that a total of 770 kW of installed power is available. The entire power supply - AC and DC - is modular and scalable. Components can be added at any time, allowing the testing institute to react flexibly to new requirements.

This infrastructure enables precise grid simulations and multi-layered test sequences to simulate environmental influences. At the same time, it offers flexible interconnections and maximum future-proofing for the increasing requirements in the validation of electromobility components.

Compliance & Quality

All products in our portfolio stand for the highest quality and tested safety. We and our partner Regatron AG have a quality management system certified to EN ISO 9001:2015 to ensure reliable processes. All products meet CE and UKCA requirements, including full testing and documentation obligations. For North American applications, REGATRON supports project-specific UL/CSA field markings (on request).
