E-mobility" project highlight
Since 2021, TÜV Austria's Technology & Innovation Center in Vienna has been home to a modern laboratory specializing in the testing of AC and DC charging infrastructure components for electromobility applications.
To ensure a reliable and efficient power supply, the laboratory has eight TC.ACS 50 kVA grid simulators and seven bidirectional power supply units from the G5 series. In total, an impressive 770 kW of installed power is available.
Both the AC and DC power supply are modular and scalable. This means that the system can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements. If the power requirement increases in the future, the components can easily be added.
This state-of-the-art infrastructure enables TÜV Austria to carry out precise tests and thoroughly check the reliability and performance of electric mobility components.
Project highlight "Network simulation"
Security and quality of supply are crucial when it comes to the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy. The IEAN (Institute for Electrical Systems and Networks) at Graz University of Technology offers extensive simulations of electrical systems and networks with its advanced network model and the corresponding peripherals.
The PHIL Laboratory at IEAN focuses on two bidirectional 30 kVA grid simulators in combination with real-time computers. These powerful systems enable a wide range of applications. One of the grid simulators can function as a grid simulator, while the other can be used as a source-side simulator.
Thanks to this innovative technology, IEAN is able to carry out realistic simulations and examine various scenarios in electrical systems and grids. This makes it possible to optimize performance, ensure stability and reliability and identify potential problems at an early stage.
