Caritas Vienna "Winter Package"
CURRENT SITUATION
Vienna is home to many people without a fixed abode who are particularly dependent on support during the cold season. Despite freezing temperatures, several hundred people in Vienna are currently sleeping outdoors, in condemned buildings or toilet facilities. With the Gruft winter package, Caritas offers an opportunity to help these people directly.
PROJECT PRESENTATION
Caritas street workers distribute winter and snowproof sleeping bags to people whose home is the street and try to make contact with them.
A sleeping bag and words of trust not only mean warmth, but also survival with dignity. And that in turn encourages people to take the step away from the streets.
HOW THE DONATION HELPS
The donation makes it possible to provide the Gruft winter package and thus help homeless people in Vienna through the cold season. Every contribution counts. The Gruft winter package includes
- a winter-proof sleeping bag that protects against the cold and provides a safe place to sleep.
- seven hot meals that are nutritious and provide warmth and energy.
- Access to the crypt, a place that not only offers protection, but also the opportunity to warm up and socialize.
